The American Chemical Society’s (ACS) Northwest Region is pleased to host the 72nd Northwest Regional Meeting (NORM 2017) this coming June 25 – 28, 2017 on the Oregon State University (OSU) campus in Corvallis, Oregon.
Whether you are a practicing or retired chemist; a college, university, or pre-college (high school) chemistry educator; or an undergraduate to graduate student of chemistry, there are programming tracks and networking events for YOU at NORM 2017! See the Program-at-a-Glance at www.NORM2017.org/program for the meeting’s planned technical programming.
2017 ACS President Allison Campbell will be giving the meeting’s kick-off keynote address to highlight her messages of: Science Advocacy; Science Literacy & Communication; Chemistry Safety; and the value of Chemistry Innovation Solutions to challenges facing people and our planet. Additional keynote lectures on Monday will feature Doug Keszler (founder of Inpria) and Jose Reyes (CTO and co-founder of NuScale).
New and unique to NORM 2017, and directly supportive of chemistry innovation and solutions in our PNW Region, Judy Giordan (ACS Innovation Initiative Leader) and Rich Carter (OSU Professor of Chemistry) have organized 2.5 days of programming, training, networking events, plus a progressive Innovation Fair component as part of the NORM 2017 Vendor Exposition, targeted at start-up and proto-venture chemistry companies (www.norm2017.org/innovation). Join us for a half day workshop on innovation training called Lens of the Market® (Apply by 5/19: http://tinyurl.com/NORM2017InnovationWorkshop). This workshop will help you take YOUR RESEARCH TO THE NEXT LEVEL with skills to demonstrate how your research can make an impact beyond a publication, and offer beginning tools to inform research based on market and societal need. Application is also open for a booth within the Innovation Fair as part of the Vendor Expo.
